Keep an eye on United Airlines (UAL).
Goldman Sachs just named it as one of its top airline picks heading into the new year. As noted by CNBC, “Goldman Sachs analyst Catherine O’Brien is favoring names ‘with exposure to markets with improving demand characteristics per the framework above in addition to relatively less cost headwinds into 2024.’”
She also “sees potential in the company’s focus on growing exposure to premium travel, a category that has outperformed post-pandemic.”
After falling to a low of $34 this year the airline stock has since rallied to $41.58. From here, if UAL can break above current resistance, it could potentially test $46 shortly.
